A holding statement is not a confession and it is not a denial. It is four sentences that say you know, you care, you are acting and you will say more soon.
The four sentences
- Acknowledge: “We are aware of reports that…”
- Care: “Our first concern is…”
- Act: “We have…” — one concrete step already taken
- Commit: “We will provide a further update by…”
