They handed us the keys on the date they gave us at the very first meeting, and the final invoice matched the contract to the dollar. After two years of hearing horror stories from friends, that felt remarkable.

The roof was open for eleven days and it rained on four of them. Not a drop got in, and nobody had to ask us to be patient about it. That is the whole review, really.

Same four faces on site every morning for eight months. By the end they knew the house better than we did, and they were the ones who spotted the drainage problem we had lived with for a decade.

We stopped after stage two the first time, because the number was more than we had. They said that was fine and did not call us again. Eighteen months later we came back, and they picked up exactly where we had left off.

It is a garage. They poured the slab like it was a kitchen floor and matched the brick without being asked. Four winters later there is not a single crack in it.
