A growing family, a ranch house they liked, and a lot they could not build sideways on. The only direction left was up, which meant the existing foundation and wall framing had to be checked before anything else was discussed.
They passed with modest reinforcement at three points. We opened the roof in late April, had the new structure dried in eleven days later, and finished the interior through the summer. The new gable was drawn to match the original pitch and the brick was sourced to match, so from the street it is difficult to tell which half is which.
