How far ahead should you book a wedding planner?

Bride and groom kissing under sparklers held by guests

The short answer is nine to twelve months for most weddings. The longer answer depends on your date, your guest count and how much of the planning you want to hand over.

12 months out: the big three

Book your planner, your venue and your photographer first. These are the vendors that sell out earliest, and your planner can help you shortlist venues that fit your guest count and budget.

9 months out: design and guest list

  • Agree a design direction and colour palette
  • Draft the guest list and send save-the-dates
  • Book catering, music and florals

6 weeks out: hand over the details

If you have chosen day-of coordination, this is when we step in. We confirm every vendor, build the run sheet and walk the venue with you.

The couples who enjoy their wedding most are the ones who stopped answering vendor emails two weeks before.
