How often should you really get a haircut?

The honest answer depends on the cut, how fast your hair grows and how sharp you like to look. Hair grows around a centimetre a month, but short styles show that growth far sooner than long ones.

Short fades and tapers

A skin fade starts to soften after about ten days and loses its shape by week three. If a crisp fade is part of your look, book every two to three weeks, or add a quick line-up between full cuts.

Classic short back and sides

Scissor-cut short styles hold their shape for three to four weeks. Most of our regulars on a signature cut come in every four weeks.

Longer hair

Longer scissor cuts can go six to eight weeks. You are not taking off length so much as keeping the ends healthy and the shape intentional.

  • Fades: every 2 to 3 weeks
  • Short scissor cuts: every 3 to 4 weeks
  • Longer styles: every 6 to 8 weeks

If you are not sure, ask your barber at the end of your next visit. They can see how your hair grows and will give you a date, not a guess.
