Camp cooking should be simple. These five dinners need one pot, a handful of ingredients and almost no washing up.
1. Campfire chili
Brown minced beef with onion, add canned beans, tomatoes and chili spice, then simmer for 30 minutes at the edge of the coals.
2. One-pot pasta
Cook pasta directly in tomato sauce with a splash of water. Stir in spinach and parmesan at the end.
3. Sausage and potato hash
Diced potatoes, sliced sausage, peppers and onion in a cast-iron pan with a lid. Done in 25 minutes.
4. Coconut curry
Curry paste, coconut milk, chickpeas and whatever vegetables you have. Serve with flatbread warmed on the grate.
5. Foil-pack salmon
Technically no pot at all: salmon, lemon, butter and dill wrapped in foil and laid on the coals for 12 minutes.
