The second rehearsal is never about the content. By then the host knows the material. What the second run finds is the four minutes somewhere in the middle where they are guessing rather than remembering — and a guess sounds different on a live feed than it does in a rehearsal room.
What we listen for
- Sentences that start twice
- A number quoted with a shrug in the voice
- Any moment where the screen leads and the speaker follows
Almost none of this shows up in a script review. It only surfaces when somebody says it out loud to another person, twice.
