Captions were added for the obvious reason. What surprised us was who turned them on: people in open-plan offices, people on a second screen during another meeting, people whose first language is not English and who wanted the spelling of a term.
The transcript is now the most-used artefact we produce, ahead of the worksheets and ahead of the recording itself.
