Customs clearance looks complicated from the outside, but most delays come down to a handful of avoidable mistakes.

Get the HS code right

Every product has a Harmonized System code that decides the duty rate. A wrong code can mean overpaying — or penalties for underpaying.

Complete, matching documents

The commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading must agree on quantities, weights and values. Inconsistencies are the number one reason for inspections.

Know your Incoterms

Terms like FOB, CIF and DDP decide who pays for freight, insurance and duties. Agree them with your supplier before the goods ship.

Use a licensed broker

Our in-house brokers file entries before your cargo arrives, so most shipments clear within 24–48 hours of landing.
