What we fix

Domestic splits, ceiling cassettes, window boxes and small packaged units.

Urgent Breakdowns

Dead unit on the hottest afternoon of the year. Diagnosed, priced and, in most cases, running again the same day.

Leak Tracing & Recharge

Nitrogen pressure test, electronic sniffer, dye where needed. We seal the escape route before any gas goes back in.

Compressors & Capacitors

Hard-start faults, humming without rotation, tripping breakers. Electrical work carried out and tested under load.

Coil, Filter & Drain Care

Blocked condensate lines, matted evaporator fins, filters nobody has lifted since installation. Cleaned, flushed and re-tested.

Controls & Sensors

Short cycling, a room that reads five degrees wrong, remotes that talk to nothing. Wiring and sensors verified end to end.

Sound familiar

Nearly every summer call is one of these three

Telling us which one matches your unit lets the engineer load the right spares before setting off, and it shortens the visit considerably.

Air Moves, Nothing Cools

The fan sounds healthy but the room never drops. Nine times out of ten this is a tired capacitor, a dirty condenser face or a charge that has slowly walked out through a joint.

How we trace it

Frost on the Pipework

Ice on the copper or the indoor coil is a symptom, never the illness. Starved airflow and low refrigerant both look identical from the outside, and only pressures tell them apart.

What we check

Water, Rattle or Odour

Puddles under the indoor head, a grinding bearing, a musty draught on start-up. These rarely stop the unit today, and they reliably become the expensive fault next month.

When it cannot wait

Hot nights ignore office hours

A nursery, a server cupboard, a bedroom with a newborn in it — some rooms simply have to come down in temperature tonight. Our late line is staffed by an engineer, not an answering service, and there is no premium added to weekend or evening labour.

How we work

Measure first. Fit parts second. Never the reverse.

Swapping components until the cold returns is quick, expensive and dishonest. We would rather spend forty minutes with gauges and a clamp meter and hand you one part to pay for instead of four.

  1. 01

    Pressures, not hunches

Subcooling, superheat, amp draw and delta-T are written down before anything is opened. Those four numbers settle most arguments about what is actually wrong.

  2. 02

    Three years on our labour

Should a joint we brazed or a board we fitted let go through our own error, we come back and put it right without an invoice.

  3. 03

    Stock that matches reality

Run capacitors, contactors, float switches, fan motors and a charging kit live in the van, because those five items cover the bulk of summer failures.

Split system · 3 ton · R-410A Chatham callout · 14 August · “blowing warm”
Diagnosed
  • Suction pressure 58 psi low
  • Superheat 24 °F high
  • Subcooling 3 °F low
  • Compressor draw 11.4 A normal
  • Delta-T across coil 9 °F low

Five readings, one conclusion: the charge had walked out through a weeping flare joint. The compressor was drawing exactly what the plate says it should. Quoted as a repair, not a replacement.

Four Steps Between Your Call and Cold Air

Describe the Symptom

Tell us what the unit does and when it started. Plain language is fine — the engineer translates.

Diagnosis on Site

Gauges, meter and eyes on the equipment. You get the actual readings, not a verdict from thin air.

You Agree the Figure

A written price per option lands in front of you. Accept one, postpone, or turn everything down.
