Air Moves, Nothing Cools
The fan sounds healthy but the room never drops. Nine times out of ten this is a tired capacitor, a dirty condenser face or a charge that has slowly walked out through a joint.
How we trace itAsk us anything
Three culprits account for the vast majority: a failed run capacitor stopping the compressor while the fan carries on, a condenser choked with dust and cottonwood, or refrigerant that has slowly escaped. Pressures tell us which within twenty minutes, and only one of the three is expensive.
You pay the diagnosis fee and nothing more, and you keep the written findings and the readings to show anyone else. Accept the work on the day and that fee comes straight off the invoice.
Refrigerant does not get consumed, so a low charge always means it has gone somewhere. Pumping more in without sealing the escape wastes your money and vents gas into the atmosphere. We locate and repair the leak first, then weigh in an accurate charge.
Once each spring covers a domestic split used through the warm months. Shops, salons and anything running most of the year benefit from a second visit in autumn. Missing it seldom breaks anything overnight; it quietly shortens compressor life and pushes your running cost up.
Nearly always, yes. The one exception is equipment inside a manufacturer warranty that names an approved installer. In that situation we say so openly and send you back to them rather than risk voiding your cover.
No cooling with the forecast above ninety, a burning smell, water dripping through a ceiling, or a room holding medication, livestock or server equipment. Those get a same-evening visit. Everything else is booked into the next working day at ordinary rates.
Callbacks go out inside one working hour and most bookings land on the same or the next day, inside a two-hour arrival slot. During a heat warning the diary fills fast, and cover-plan customers move to the front of it.
No. Weekend and evening labour is charged at the ordinary rate, and the late line runs until midnight every day of the week.
Sound familiar
Telling us which one matches your unit lets the engineer load the right spares before setting off, and it shortens the visit considerably.

How we trace itIce on the copper or the indoor coil is a symptom, never the illness. Starved airflow and low refrigerant both look identical from the outside, and only pressures tell them apart.
What we checkPuddles under the indoor head, a grinding bearing, a musty draught on start-up. These rarely stop the unit today, and they reliably become the expensive fault next month.

When it cannot wait
A nursery, a server cupboard, a bedroom with a newborn in it — some rooms simply have to come down in temperature tonight. Our late line is staffed by an engineer, not an answering service, and there is no premium added to weekend or evening labour.
Call the urgent lineThe long version
Not urgent, or want to brief us properly first? This is the longer form — model numbers, history, which rooms are affected. The more you write, the better stocked the van arrives.
Nothing is billed until an engineer stands in front of the equipment and you have agreed a figure. Replies go out the same working day, Monday to Saturday.
Leave a number and an engineer rings you back inside one working hour — no charge until you have agreed a figure.
