The first video visit is the one people are most nervous about, and almost always the shortest.
Before it starts, the AI consultant has already taken your history and written a summary. The doctor reads it while the call connects, which is why the visit opens with a specific question rather than “so, what brings you in today”.
Expect to be asked to move the camera. A rash, a swollen joint, a throat, an eye — all of these are examinable on video with better light than most clinic rooms have. Have a lamp nearby.
Most visits end with three things: a plain explanation of what is probably going on, a plan with a named next step, and a date by which you should feel better or come back. Prescriptions and lab orders are issued during the call. The whole thing is typically twelve to fifteen minutes, and the notes are in your timeline before you close the window.
