Maplewood Park will look different under the lights this weekend. The club’s new LED floodlight system was switched on for the first time on Tuesday evening, ahead of the Premier Division meeting with league leaders Harbor City.
Brighter, greener, broadcast-ready
The $1.2m project replaces the 1994 metal-halide towers with 312 LED fittings. The new system uses 60% less energy, reaches full brightness instantly and meets the lighting standard required for continental cup broadcasts.
- 312 LED fittings across four towers
- 60% lower energy use every matchday
- Instant restrike — no more half-time warm-up delay
- Light show capability for goals and big European nights
Every seat is brighter, every camera angle is sharper, and our energy bill goes down. It is the best money we have spent on this stadium in thirty years.
— Club secretary
Supporters are asked to be in their seats fifteen minutes before kick-off on Saturday for the first matchday light show.
