Not every dispute needs a courtroom. Mediation can resolve many disputes faster and at a fraction of the cost, but it is not the right choice for every case.
When mediation works well
Where both sides want to preserve a relationship, where the facts are largely agreed, or where the cost of a trial would outweigh what is at stake.
When trial may be necessary
Where the other side will not engage, where there is a point of principle to establish, or where urgent protection is needed.
Getting the balance right
I will give you an honest view of both routes. When a fair settlement is the smarter path, I will tell you. When it is time to fight, I will be ready.
