The Verge began as a competition entry for a community garden that needed somewhere dry to store tools and shelter from summer storms. We proposed a building that would slowly disappear.
A wall for the growers
The long south wall is a trellis in reclaimed brick, with wires and ledges set out alongside the growers so each climbing species reaches the height it needs. In its second summer the brick is already mostly green.
We asked for a shed. We got a wall that grows tomatoes.
