Lime plaster moves with an old building instead of fighting it. It lets moisture out of solid walls, it self-heals small cracks, and it takes a patch almost invisibly.
Living with it
Expect fine hairline cracks in the first year while the building settles. Leave them a winter, then fill with the same lime. Do not seal it with modern paint — use a breathable limewash or leave it bare.
