What actually needs climate control, and what does not

Climate control is standard in our indoor buildings, so this is less a sales question than a planning one: if you are choosing between an indoor room and a drive-up bay, here is what tips the decision.

Put it indoors

  • Anything wooden with a finish on it — dining tables, instruments, veneered units.
  • Paper: books, photographs, documents, artwork.
  • Electronics, especially anything with a battery or a screen.
  • Upholstery and mattresses, which hold damp and then hold the smell of it.

A drive-up bay is fine

  • Garden furniture, tools, bicycles and sports kit.
  • Sealed plastic crates of hard goods.
  • Trade stock that already lives in a van.

If you are genuinely unsure, ring the office and describe the item. It takes a minute and it is cheaper than finding out in March.
