Choosing a microphone for spoken word

For a single host in an untreated room, a dynamic microphone will almost always beat a condenser. It hears less of the room, handles plosives better and forgives a host who moves around.

USB or XLR

USB is fine for a solo show. The moment you add a guest in the same room, move to XLR and a small interface so both voices share one clock.
