Self-employed borrowers

Two years of returns, add-backs, retained profit, a good accountant’s letter. We present the income the way underwriters read it.

Being self-employed is a documentation exercise, not an obstacle. The difficulty is that lenders differ enormously in how they treat retained profit, add-backs and a trading history shorter than two years — and the same set of accounts can produce very different borrowing figures across a panel.

How we present the file

We work directly with your accountant, put the income into the shape the target lender’s underwriter expects, and send a covering note that answers the questions before they are asked. Files that arrive explained get decided faster.
