What we cannot take, and where those items should go

There is a short list of things no licensed collection crew will put in a truck, and it is better to know it before the truck is on your drive.

Asbestos is the big one. If a garage roof, an artex ceiling or old pipe lagging is even possibly asbestos, it needs a licensed removal contractor and a separate consignment note. Do not break it, do not bag it, and do not let anyone tell you it is fine.

Solvents, unsealed paint, fuel and pool chemicals go to a household hazardous waste facility. Gas cylinders go back to the supplier, who usually takes them without charge. Medical sharps go to a pharmacy or a council collection point. Car tyres and batteries go to a garage or a tyre depot.

Everything else — furniture, appliances, timber, metal, rubble, garden waste, electricals, general household clutter — we take. If you are not sure which side of the line something sits on, send us a photo before you book. It takes a minute and it saves a wasted visit.
