The check-engine light covers hundreds of possible faults, from a loose fuel cap to a failing catalytic converter. That is why a fault code on its own is only the start of a diagnosis.
Steady or flashing?
A steady light usually points to a sensor or emissions fault. It is safe to drive to the workshop, but book a check within a week. A flashing light means the engine is misfiring. Slow down and call us.
Why we look at live data
A code tells us which system reported a problem, not which part failed. We read live sensor data and road-test the car so we replace the right part the first time.
- Loose or faulty fuel cap
- Oxygen sensor fault
- Worn spark plugs or ignition coils
- Mass airflow sensor contamination
A full diagnostic costs $59, and we take that off the bill if you go ahead with the repair.
