The BVI run from November to April, when the Mediterranean has shut for the winter. Trade winds are steady, the crossings between islands are short, and the water is the kind that makes people rearrange their calendars.
Saltmark crosses each autumn and stays for the season. Road Town is the usual departure, with a circuit that takes in Norman Island, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke over a week without ever feeling rushed.
