Most club doubles points are won or lost by position, not by shot quality. Learn these simple rules and you will cover the court with half the effort.
Move as a team
Imagine you and your partner are joined by a three-metre rope. When one moves left, the other follows.
Take the net
The team that controls the net usually wins the point. Follow good approach shots in and close the gaps together.
Cover the middle
- Agree before the match who takes balls down the middle
- Usually it is the player with the forehand in the centre
- Call “mine” early and loudly
