Switching Careers at 30: A Realistic Learning Plan

Professionals collaborating in a bright office

Changing careers does not require quitting your job or going back to university. It requires a plan, a few hours a week and patience.

Months 1–2: foundations

Take one beginner course and finish it. The goal is momentum and a clear picture of the field.

Months 3–4: projects

Build two small projects that solve real problems. Share them publicly and ask for feedback.

Months 5–6: depth and network

  • Take an intermediate course in your chosen specialism
  • Join communities and attend one event a month
  • Update your CV and LinkedIn with your new projects

Six months is not long. Many of our learners landed new roles within a year of starting.
