Children learn tennis faster when the court, racquet and ball are sized for them. Our junior academy uses the red, orange and green ball stages recommended by national federations.
Red stage (ages 5–8)
A quarter-size court and a ball that bounces slowly, so rallies happen from the very first lesson.
Orange stage (ages 8–10)
Three-quarter court and a slightly faster ball. Players start serving overarm and keeping score.
Green stage (ages 10–12)
Full court with a ball that is 25% slower than normal. The perfect bridge to yellow-ball match play.
We move players up when they are ready, not by birthday. Your coach will talk to you before every step.
