Answers Before You Book

Still unsure whether you need a professional? These are the questions we hear most often from new clients.

Prefer to talk it through?

Call during office hours and speak with an advisor, not a call center.

What documents should I bring for my tax return?

Usually your W-2s or 1099s, last year's return, ID for everyone on the return, and records of deductions such as mortgage interest, childcare, charitable gifts and business expenses. After your consultation, we send a checklist tailored to you.

Can you help if I haven't filed for several years?

Yes. We regularly prepare multiple years of unfiled returns, calculate what's actually owed and negotiate payment plans or penalty relief where it's available.

Do I need to visit your office in person?

No. Most clients work with us entirely online through the secure portal and video calls. You're always welcome to meet in our Springfield office if you prefer.

How long does it take to prepare my return?

Personal returns are typically ready for review within 5–7 business days of receiving complete documents. Business returns take longer depending on the state of the books.

What happens if the IRS questions a return you prepared?

We respond on your behalf at no extra cost for returns we prepared, and if a penalty results from our error, we pay it under our accuracy guarantee.

How do I pay, and when?

We confirm a flat fee before starting. Payment is due when you approve your final return, by card, bank transfer or check. Payment plans are available for larger business engagements.
