Forgotten combination, flat battery, a jammed bolt or a lock that has failed outright. Where the model allows it we open non-destructively — manipulation or a manufacturer bypass — and the safe goes back into service the same day.
Where drilling is the only route, it is done to a known point, repaired properly, and the lock is replaced with an equivalent or better unit. You get a new combination that only you hold, plus a service check on the boltwork and hinges while it is open.
