A caseworker is not reading your balance. They are reading whether the balance was held, whose it is, and whether it can be traced. A lump sum that appears eleven days before you apply reads as a loan even when it is a gift from a parent, and it will be treated as one unless you say so and document it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What counts, in practice: the balance held continuously for the number of days the route specifies, in an account in your own name or a name the rules permit, evidenced by statements the bank itself issued rather than a screenshot of an app. Where the money came from someone else, a signed declaration from them plus evidence of their own source of funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What does not count, however true it is: an investment you would have to liquidate, a credit facility, a balance in a currency the destination does not accept without conversion evidence, or a statement that stops three weeks before you filed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
