A child with a temperature of 39\u00b0C who is drinking, responsive and irritable-but-consolable is usually managing. A child at 38.2\u00b0C who is floppy, very hard to rouse, or breathing fast needs to be seen now.<\/p>\n<p>Call the same day if the child is under three months with any fever at all, if the fever has run past five days, if fluids are being refused, or if a rash appears that does not fade under gentle pressure from a glass.<\/p>\n<p>Go to emergency for a stiff neck, a seizure, blue or mottled skin, laboured breathing, or a child who cannot be woken properly.
