The last date before the item can be sold.<\/p>\n<p>A shop that will not put all six on the ticket before you sign is not doing you a favour by keeping it vague. Every one of those figures is fixed by state law and none of them should be a surprise on the day you come back.<\/p>\n<p>Ask what happens if you are late. A good shop calls and texts before a ticket lapses, and will renew it for the finance charge alone. Ask whether anyone else can redeem it \u2014 the answer should be no, unless they are named on the ticket with their own ID. And ask where the item is kept.
