They sound similar, but they pay out very differently if something is damaged, so it is worth understanding the difference before moving day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Basic valuation (released value)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Included at no extra cost. It pays by weight, not by value \u2014 typically 60 cents per pound per item. A 10-pound television worth $800 would be covered for just $6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full-value protection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mover is responsible for the replacement value of anything lost or damaged. We repair the item, replace it with a similar one, or pay its current market value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Worth it for electronics, antiques, artwork and newer furniture.<\/li><li>Worth it for long-distance moves with more handling.<\/li><li>Often unnecessary if most of your furniture is older and low value.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How claims work with us<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Report any issue within 30 days.
