Most people glance at it and file it. It is worth ten minutes, because it is the only objective record of how your pack is ageing.

The headline is measured capacity against rated capacity. A pack at 92% after two years is healthy. The same pack at 78% after two years is not, and — crucially — that is usually inside the manufacturer warranty window, which typically guarantees 80% at a stated cycle count.

The second number is cycle count. Capacity loss only means something relative to how much work the pack has done. Eighty per cent after 900 cycles is a pack that earned its retirement; eighty per cent after 200 is a warranty claim, and we will file it for you.

Measured capacity against rated capacity, cycle count, and the one number that predicts a warranty claim.

[30
31,46,47
post-69","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-batteries","tag-batteries","tag-diagnostics","tag-warranty
["GET
