It carries embodied carbon that has already been spent, it weathers in beautifully, and it usually matches the street better than anything new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Garden walls and planters in lime mortar<\/li>\n\n<li>Internal feature walls that stay dry<\/li>\n\n<li>Repairs to older buildings of the same age<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where it does not<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exposed parapets, chimneys and anywhere that sees freeze\u2013thaw cycles on a wet face. Old soft bricks were never made for that, and they will spall within a few winters.
